Our Curriculum

Our EYFS provision is guided by the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and supported by the Birth to 5 Matters guidance, ensuring we provide a well-rounded and consistent approach to early learning and development. We focus on helping children become confident learners who are curious, independent, and motivated to explore the world around them. Children are supported to become confident communicators through meaningful interactions, stories, and play, where they are encouraged to express themselves, listen to others, and develop their language skills. We also priorities physical development, helping children build the strength, coordination, and self-care skills needed to actively engage in all areas of learning

Alongside this, we place a strong emphasis on social and emotional development, helping children understand their feelings, build positive relationships, take turns, and develop the confidence and security they need to thrive in a school environment.

Areas of Learning and Development

The EYFS is divided into 7 areas of learning and development:

Prime areas • Personal, Social and Emotional Development • Communication and Language • Physical Development

Specific areas • Literacy • Mathematics • Understanding the World • Expressive Arts and Design

Every child’s education plan is prepared to reflect the individual needs required for each child’s potential to be reached.

Every child will have access to our online journal, Tapestry.

Each child’s designated key person will contribute observations, photos, and videos, and parents are encouraged to add their own input as well. This platform serves as an excellent way for us to connect with the children about their lives at home.
